Its a pity New Zealand isn't very into cuddling. Growing up my dad, who is from Fiji, loved to cuddle on the couch with us kids. Whereas my mum only hugged people in welcome, and goodby. Kids at school used to find it weird that I hugged him goodby as he dropped me off. So they would make fun about something going on. Kinda said more about them, viewing a father hugging his son as somehow sexual, or wrong.
